The new Committee on Facility Visioning will be hosting a series of Forums, between April 6 and April 27, on the future of First Parish’s facilities and grounds. Our goal is to have the congregation develop a collective vision for our facilities and grounds, looking at least 10 years into the future. To do this successfully, we are asking every church member to attend one Forum, at which a pair of Facilitators will lead the group and ask you to express you vision for the future of the church. Each Forum will last no longer than 2 hours.

Considerations to be included are (in no particular order):

• worship
• religious education
• administration
• programs
• intergenerational activities
• child care
• accessibility for the handicapped
• weddings and other special events
• energy use and sustainability
• building maintenance
• restrooms
• parking
• landscaping, plants, and trees
• community outreach
• image in the community
• historical continuity
• zoning requirements
• multi-use capabilities
• income generation through rentals
• audio-visual

The Committee on Facility Visioning asks you to sign up for one Forum, at which attendance will be limited to twenty (20) people to assure that everyone has a chance to speak and participate. All Forums will be held in Parish Hall. The proposed dates and times are as follows:

1. Sunday, April 6, 12:30 – 2:30 PM, with lunch for participants
2. Saturday, April 12, 10:00 – 12:00 PM, with donuts and coffee
3. Wednesday, April 16, 7:30 – 9:30 PM, with dessert and coffee
4. Thursday, April 17, 7:30 – 9:30 PM, with dessert and coffee
5. Saturday, April 19, 10:00 – 12:00 PM, with donuts and coffee
6. Sunday, April 20, 12:30 – 2:30 PM, with lunch for participants
7. Monday, April 21, 7:30 – 9:30 PM, with dessert and coffee
8. Tuesday, April 22, 7:30 – 9:30 PM, with dessert and coffee
9. Sunday, April 27, 12:30 – 2:30 PM, with lunch for participants

With the successful completion of these Forums on Facility Visioning, the Committee will write a report and present that report to the Congregation either at the Annual Congregation Meeting or at a special meeting held late this spring.
